Scott McClellan released his inevitable book this week. And in the fashion of rats from a sinking ship he takes ample time (I have heard) to tear into the President's Iraq policy and other things. Read about it at Politico (link below).
I wont argue the points he makes because they are in all likelihood totally true and worthwhile. I will say this, when you spent so much time at a podium defending these specific decisions can cutting ties with them after the fact actually save your career? And if it can save your career, what does it say about the man that you are?
I guess it says that you weren't paid well enough to retire and are afraid that if you don't cut and run your career is as over as GW's... I mean the man is only 40, he has some time to kill before he can retire.

With reports of Ted Kennedy's almost, not really, demise today, the news was flooded with an outpouring of love and support for one of the worst Americans since FDR. It's odd because I thought I was watching CNN where that kind of left wing love festival for such a blatant commie, elitist, scum piece of shit like TK would make sense but oddly enough I saw Fox News logos all over the screen. Far be it for me to defend Fox News for it's impartiality but I can't imagine what kind of meeting they had to have before giving him a pass on a day like today.
I actually heard a pundit refer to TK as 'never compromising his integrity."
Perhaps I am not well versed on 'integrity' but I'm pretty sure it's at least a minor compromise to leave the scene of an accident where you have drunkenly caused the brutal drowning death of an innocent young woman and slink back to the security of your compound to sleep it off before alerting the authorities a day later about the corpse you left in the wake of your party.
Also it may not be reeking of integrity to use your political influence and considerable wealth to organize a misdemeanor charge and a suspended sentence out of the whole affair.
Every time I see someone talk about what a 'Great American' TK is with his 45+ years of political 'service', I try to forge past the miles and miles of damage that his legislation has caused to real Americans who don't get the free pass he did. I try to ignore those politically charged issues on which he and I disagree and focus only on the actual damage he has caused people personally during his life. I also try not to focus on the whoring and the alcoholism (cause really who am I to judge on those grounds) and focus only on what an elitist, snobby, worthless, fat, diseased (probably, seizures are one of the main symptoms of Syphilis), hypocritical piece of shit that he is. Who else could oppose Roe V. Wade adamantly before it was law, and then after it was law speak with vitriolic condemnation on the floor of the senate about...wait for it, people who oppose Roe V. Wade.
That's how I manage to hold back the tears when I hear he's not well.
Seriously when I closed my eyes the news today sounded like the Nixon funeral coverage, with it's glowing adorations and complete omission of the horrible effect he had on the country.

The Dean Scream Back Again?
Howard Dean was on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart last night and it was... hoo ho, it was grand.
Not a minute into the interview, the first question out of the box, Dean promises to seat the Florida and Michigan delegates at the D's national convention this year.
Wow... Awesome.
I suppose, as usual it doesn't matter what Howie D. is saying. He seems to have never had any control over his own party, it would be odd to believe that this was any different. It's especially empty given the election results of tonights primaries. It stands to reason that Hillary may be all but a nasty memory.
But...
From the full seating of these two delegations Hillary stands to gain between 65 and 100 more delegates than Obama, who currently has a 150 delegate lead (including pledged super-delegates). That means that if the undecideds and Edwards delegates in these two crowds fall even mildly in her favor she sits in a 50 to 75 delegate race. With 267 un-pledged, party elite super-delegates it's not as sewn up as some might imagine.
There are some primaries left as well, Oregon has 52 delegates to assign, as well as West Virginia with 28, Montana with 16, South Dakota with 15 and Kentucky with 51. Factor in the 55 delegates from Puerto Rico and the numbers get even mushier. 188 of these remaining delegates are in closed primaries which in states with less than 100 delegates have trended pretty strongly towards Obama. 99 of them are in open primaries which will likely be heavily attended by R crossovers and have trended towards Hillary, thanks in no small part to Rush Limbaugh.
If we hypothetically assume a greater margin of victory in the open primaries left to run falling for Hillary than the margin of those in closed primaries falling to Obama then we could imagine a 15 to 20 delegate swing for Hillary. Again hypothetically speaking. That puts her within 30 delegates in her wettest of dreams and again we don't know what those super-delegates are going to do.
Also we need to remember that in the delegate counting convention world all Hillary really has to do is keep Obama under 2025 delegates and she can force a second vote, and in a second vote previously committed delegates are free to move(and open to bribery and manipulation) . For her to pull this off she would need a compromise that kept the Fla and Mi delegations out of the first vote (as they stand to deliver at least 126 of the remaining 183 needed by Obama). Also she has to have something like 200 to 250 of the remaining super-delegates in her pocket. But that's not really unimaginable is it? I mean why would anybody stay in the race with these numbers if she didn't have an ace up her sleeve?
Watch for this obviously ridiculous scenario in the coming days. If you see a deal brokered that keeps the Fla and Mi delegations at the convention but unable to vote in the first round or unable to vote in full numbers, remember you read about this odd electoral farce here first.
One thing to note of course is that every minute of this preposterous series of events makes the D candidate (whom ever he or she may be) look more and more like the leader of a three ring circus than a viable candidate. The worst possible thing for the D's is a four day floor fight in prime time with ship jumping delegates deciding the party's candidate. Most especially bad for the party that presents itself as the populist choice.
Perhaps Howie D. has screamed again and sent the D's down the losing track.. We'll all just have to wait and see.

I Can't Decide
This week three New York City Detectives were acquitted of all charges relating to the shooting death of an un-armed black groom on his wedding day. The Reverend Al Sharpton has threatened to use his influence to shut down the city of New York in protest.
I can't decide who to root for in this ridiculous shit storm.
First of all I'm starting to think that it's ill advised to allow police to carry guns. It seems that the power is just too intoxicating for this crowd of type a high school graduates with clear authority issues. I can see how an officer would accidentally mistake a hand or arm movement for a threatening attempt to pull a gun. What I can't understand is how after the 30th or even 40th time they have shot the man, if they haven't actually seen a gun, why wouldn't they pause and maybe take stock of the situation. Also it seems likely that this is a problem of incompetence rather than racial malice, but shouldn't it be a criminal offense to shoot an unarmed man out of your own incompetence?
On the other hand, we have Al Sharpton, who is by most sensible accounts a complete fucking douche-bag. Al has always been jealous of the Honorable Reverend Jesse Jackson and the one accomplishment of his that Sharpton has never been able to live up to; instigating a riot that ends in the senseless murder of an innocent Jew. So Al uses every opportunity to turn the involvement of an innocent black citizen in a bad situation into lynching, out of which he can trigger his own bigoted, hate filled, race war. Alas for Al only about nine people in the world give a shit what he has to say.
On another hand (I'm borrowing extra hands now) I think it's high time to see New York City put on it's ass for any reason really. The place stinks, it's filled with a haze of putrid arrogance. The city itself seems to have a consciousness and that consciousness is a fucking asshole. Each and every citizen of NYC is proud to live in that rat infested, urine stained, waste of space. I giggled like a little girl when the transit strike locked that place down.
I guess when it boils down to is that we have a big crowd of dipshits that deserve significantly more punishment than they will receive. And in the end what's lost by the media and our crazy society is that there is one person still with us that has been punished way more than we should ever have to imagine. There's still a bride out there that was widowed on what was supposed to be the happiest day of her life.

The week in Democrats... Spitzer? I hardly know her.
If you enjoy watching the D's suffer then the last week or so has made you grin from ear to ear.
D' Governor of New York is dethroned in a scandal of infidelity, prostitution and hypocrisy so deep if you dropped a rock in it you would never hear it hit the bottom.
His replacement Lt. Governor and cross-eyed blind imbecile David Paterson took office with the fantastic announcement that he and his wife were no strangers to the beds of... well strangers.
A former aide of the disgraced former governor of New Jersey (Jim McGreevey) chose this week to tell the world about his bisexual threesomes with McGreevey and his wife.
The national D party which seemed to have a lock on the presidency if only it could make up it's mind on which shitty candidate is the heir apparent; has thrown down the gauntlet by denying it's Florida citizens representation in it's convention.
As if that weren't enough the D' voters in Mich. will get a three stooges-esque do-over showing the world that D's are not even capable of following their own silly bullshit rules.
It looks like there's almost no way that the D's are going to escape a candidate decision on the floor at the convention and the R's will have had like 6-8 months of head-start. Whats more is that the country will have plenty of time to forget the ugly things that R's have said about their candidate, while the D's will still have plenty of fresh blood on their shirts.
I'll say it again the Democrats eat their young.

New York Democrats
As if I needed another reason to think that New York is the deepest pit in Hell. I have commented before in private that I thought this presidential election was going to boil down to which self important New York piece of shit we could tolerate the most. Fortunately it hasn't turned out that way but if you aren't sure why then Governor Eliot Spitzer might shed some light on it. New York is the shining symbol of self important narcissistic arrogance in the world today. All the press in the world can't change the fact that while NY thinks itself the de-facto capital of the united states, we still all know it's just a crowded shit-hole. Demoncrat Governor Fuckahoe ran on a platform of crusading against government corruption. And now he's up to his ears in illegal prostitution. Sweet.
Let's be clear that while prostitution is against the law in most locations (notably New York and DC) I am not interested in chastising anyone for business arrangements between consenting adults. I only seek to condemn a man for his profound hypocrisy and the arrogance with which he has sought out 'corruption' while subversively attempting to smear his political opponents.

Happy Birthday

There's a stink about the Clinton campaign. A stink that seems familiar to some. No I'm not talking about the stink of used up whores that stick's to Mr. Bill. I'm talking about the stink of desperation.
One of the benefits of a field full of terrible, and similarly destructive candidates is that I can revel in the failures and pitfalls of anyone who isn't doing well. I can be just as gleeful as I want to be when I see Hillary shitting in her own pool, because I know that there is no probable positive outcome to this presidential election. No matter what happens the next president of the United States will be a douche bag, who won by defeating other douche bags. Sure it might be a half black douche bag, or a female douche bag; Or a douche bag who is only an R' because he's got a bone to pick with the VC and the D's hate that. But it will definitely be a grade-A prime douche bag.
I digress.
Clinton scored points recently by tricking Obama into calling a photo of himself a dirty trick (why do they take the bait?) and tricking the R's into using the same photo in racially charged direct mail. The mere fact that anyone swung at that pitch in the dirt is incredible; let alone everybody swinging for the fences. All the while Hill's campaign just sat back and commended the Senator for learning about other cultures. Score one for Hill; but it was not enough to save her drowning mission to get blown by an intern in the oval office. The stink of desperation is as follows: Stealing campaign ads from Walter Mondale. (might be hard to really call it stealing as the ads were made by the same person)

AARP
I keep seeing ads for AARP's special insurance program for older drivers. I find myself wondering what special coverage might be necessary for those more experienced drivers who are advanced in years. The ad makes it seem like AARP's pool of mature drivers facilitates lower rates. I'm not an insurance expert though I have had some experience with the structures involved in risk management. I ask is this really a low risk group?
* In November, an 89-year-old man whose car hurtled through a farmers market in California in 2003, killing 10 people and injuring more than 70 others, received five years of probation because a judge deemed him too ill to go to prison.
* Last August, a sport utility vehicle driven by an 89-year-old man plowed into pedestrians and vendors at an open-air public market in Rochester, N.Y., injuring 10 people.
* In October 2005 in North Dakota, an 87-year-old woman on her way to a doctor appointment smashed her car into the hospital’s lobby, injuring five women.
